I got a new book: "Closeups in Nature" by John Shaw I used some of the techniques described in the book for these photos.
I think they look nicer full image!
They all were taken with a tripod at f32, mirror lockup and remote switch.

George weighted in at 4 lbs last Sunday. These were taken on Thursday after I noticed that the other pictures did not show how small he is.

The special challenge was anything analog. I have scads of analog (film) images but they are from yesteryear! So here are 3 ... probably not the best but actually the best I could find in a short time. I am not able to easily get my slides onto digital. Maybe Santa will come up with a slide scanner.
All were kissed with photoshop to clean up and brighten the images.

This was my mother's chair and I do not know the story behind the chair but mom lived in Mexico about 1917 when she was 9 years old. She returned for a visit in the 60's when she retired from teaching. She probably bought the chair when she visited Mexico then.

The one that got away! - A humming bird taking a bath in the rain. Sitting on the phone wire with beak in the air and wings beating. He flew whenever I got the camera out.
