Bushy Tail Birds?

Hanging from a string
King of the Hill
OK, Missy, I out of your yard!
Notice photo #1 and think about those squirrel proof feeders. This guy would just hang from the top and eat all he wants!

I sicked Missy after these varmits ... there were two on the ground ... and they left ... for a little while. The only way to get rid of them is to not to fill the feeders. So I just take photos of them.

there the same in every yard Fri 13-Feb-2004 21:05

More Zoo

Massasauga Rattlesnake
Black Tree Monitor
The black tree monitor would spit out a 5" tongue. I wasted several photos trying to get the tongue, but it was too fast!

Great pictures! I sure wouldn't want to see # 2 anywhere outside the zoo Tue 10-Feb-2004 04:43

Zoo

My recent visit to the zoo had a few more photos that I would like to share.

I finally added a new computer with larger monitor and lots of disk space. Makes editing the photos so much easier. I find this is the hardest part ... selecting which photo to show and how to present it.

Bird Feeding?

How did I do that?
Bushy Tail Bird!
The first photo shows a bird that must have really been hungry! Look close, he is inside the feeder.

The second photo shows a really strange bird ... one with a bushy tail!

hi dave ... i like taking photos of the birds on my bird table too! but i've never had one get INSIDE the feeder, hope he got himself out ok.
thanks for the tip about the info being still attached to the photo ... it certainly is there attached to the images on the memory card, but i can't seem to find any record once i have transferred them to my pc, have tried on explorer and on photoshop, but nothing. perhaps i should tinker with the saving options? i'll have a go.

Birds Feeding

Morning Doves
Mrs Cardinal
Coming in!
View all 9 photos...
The birds have found my new feeders. The cardinals came into and I shot thru the back door window. Even cleaned the window, inside and out!

The mystery bird landed in my backyard, but I saw it as it flew away. It must have been 12"-18" tall ... it was huge! Found it purched in a tree two houses away! Guess it must be a hawk looking for lunch!

I treated myself to a new lens. This is my first time to play with it. Welcome to my back yard.

This 300mm lens really does make the background out of focus.

Beautiful Yet My vote goes to missy >> Artistic >> It is telling ...any body can here Fri 23-Jan-2004 17:49

African Safari

baboon

I've been really busy preparing for my African Safari. What a time I had! Flying to the southern tip of Africa and journeying up the dangerous waters of that white river. You just can't believe it!

Ok, so I just stopped in at the local zoo and shot a few pictures of the monkeys. A guy can dream can't he? In fact, one of the first task to get ready for such a trip would be to practice taking photos of the animals at the local zoo.

Actually, I should not belittle the local zoo. The St Louis Zoo is one of the best in the country and I am really lucky that it is only takes a few minutes to get to it. Also it is free!

I was sitting on a bench in front of the baboons and checking some stuff with my camera when I looked up and saw this baboon sitting in his cage make faces at me! This shot was the one I liked the best.

you've done a great job Sun 18-Jan-2004 11:51
