Corpus Christi - Jan 28, 2005

On Saturday, Jan 29, 2005, we drove down to Corpus Christi.
The RV Park was nice even tho the spaces were close together.
The weather was cool and cloudy.
Since the weather was so poor, I only took one foto of the ship in the Corpus Christi bay.

Travel to Houston, TX - Thursday Jan 27, 2005

We left for Houston on Thursday. We were scheduled to stay at an RV park near Sunnyland. This is a small town south of Houston. While we were traveling, we stopped for gas at this station. Notice there is no attendent ... all sales are electronic. Suppose this is the future?

When the fuel gauge gets to half, I start looking for a station that I think I can get into. Can't backup when I am towing so have to have a lot of room. So many stations point into the building and it is tough to move in and out. I was down to about quarter full before I found a station I liked. I filled with about 50 gallon. One time it took 70 gallons to fill and I only have a 75 gal tank. I get about 7 mpg.

This RV site was really tight and too much gravel and mud. Their ads are more positive! But it is close to the highway and easy to get to.
We visited George Historical Ranch for a little while. Below is the blacksmith fire.

Marshall, TX - Jan 26,2005

We stayed in Marshall, TX another day (Wednesday, Jan 26) and I took a few more fotos. Select the fotos for a larger image.
I got a better foto than the day before. The trees were really nice even tho it was not too warm.
The RV's in the background seem to stay for a while. We are only here for a couple of days.
The lake was nice and quiet.

On Sunday, Jan 23, we visited the new Clinton Library in Little Rock. It is very nice.

Still here!

My entry sounded like I was leaving fotopages, but that was not the intent. After I posted the note I got busy preparing for an RV trip from St Louis to Brownsville, TX. We did leave St Louis on Jan 21 and arrived in Brownsville on Jan 30. I only got connected using phone while we were enroute, but now I am on a high speed connection and will start posting a few photos I took on the trip. So stop in and check out my site. More fotos will be posted on the other sites I listed in my prior note.
We plan to stay in the Brownsville area until March 21 then move back to St Louis via New Orleans by April 1st.

Finally arrived at a campgrounds in North Little Rock only a few miles from downtown. Very nice!
This is not too exciting unless you are out in the wilderness and find a heated rest area with spacious showers, hot water and lot's of hot air.
