I have not been posting to this site for a couple of reasons. First, the standard fotos are really quite small and difficult to see unless you write your own html. Of course this is very time consuming and I dont' seem to get the urge. Second, the splashy ads are simply too irritating to spend any time on these pages. I realize that ads are necessary, but I don't think they need to be so irritating. I am sorry, but I doubt that would ever click on one of these stupid ads. I have responded to many ads on the internet in the past and will in the future, but spash does not make me want your product! I don't need a loan, so why keep hounding me for one? The ads on fotopic are much more interesting and more targeted. If I show fotos of a subject and discuss it in the body, the ads will be tailored to that subject. Now this integrates the ad into the site. Fotopages shove stupid ads down your throat and tries to take the emphasis away from the fotos!

We stayed at an RV park located in back of Elvis's center, across the street from Graceland. We could walk from our RV park thru Graceland's parking parking lot and board their bus to drive across the street to the mansion. We did not because it did not seem like my wife could see very much from her wheel chair. So our visit included a trip to downtown and back. I think the 2 month trip was starting to tire and we only wanted to "get home"!

1) On the way to downtown. Traffic is tough but we are traveling in the tow vehicle, not the RV.


2) This is the recording studio, Elvis used for his first record.


3) The Mississippi river and my wife in the mirror.


4) These stairs were along the Mississippi river park. Taking these on would really tire one out. I these kids were running up and down them.

5) The park was probably one of the nicest we stayed in except they did not have wifi. Internet connection
in the store for 15 minutes. Don't know why they bother. Next time I am in Memphis, I'll look for a RV park with wifi.

6) This is the back-end of Graceland's holding site. The parking lot is off to the right.

Vicksburg Civil War Memorial

Some of the deciding battles during the civil war were fought in this area. The Civil War Memorial at Vicksburg, Mississippi describes many of the battles. It can be visited by automobile with many places availabe to stop and look.

During our return trip from Texas this April we stopped in
New Orleans to see the sights. Our plane trip over New
Orleans was memorable and following are a few more
photos. Yesterday I posted a few and got you into the air.
Today I'll get you down.




I noticed that there are NO roads! The pilot confirmed that
these houses can only be visited by boat or plane.


We landed on this waterway and talked a little then took off
again!


These waterways are all around the place. Big oil built them
to get their tankers to and from the oil fields.


Our pilot turned to fly our camera for a few shots.
Here is one of them. This old couple always
shows up everytime someone takes a picture of
us. Don't know where they come from.

On our return from Brownsville we stopped at New Orleans. During our stay we took a plane ride on a small water ski plane. We grabbed it at Greta, LA, a small town south of New Orleans. The plane was similiar to this one and could land on land or water. The water landing was smoother.

My wife was in the back seat and I in the front next to the pilet. He used these instruments but I just watched and tried to keep out of his way.


We headed up the channel to the downtown area. The noise was so loud that all communications were done with hand signals. We each had ear muffins and the pilot had a radio in his. My wife and I could only here the faint drum of the engine.


I had a telepohoto lens with me, but did not have enough room to use it.


Down-town New Orleans ... The Super Dome is in the back.
